Napoleon was born to a minor Italian noble family on the island of Corsica, which was owned by Genoa. 15 months later, Corsica was sold to France. Arguably, the greatest figure in French history wasnt even French. French wasn't even his native tongue. He had a some problems in military school because of his Italian accent.
