Support NeXTCHAN For a Better Server

The current server will not be able to host everything we plan to introduce (IPFS archival, PIXIV/Mastodon integration, Matrix...). Please help support NeXTCHAN through donations.
Requirements for target:
- $20/mo for better server
- $15 for domain transfer to US registrar
- $15/yr for domain renewal
- Any extras are appreciated, and will be used for ads on other sites/chans and unexpected costs

Current Software Status

NeXTCHAN is currently running Blazechan 0.11.0+git20180611.

I want a feature added!

https://gitgud.io/blazechan/blazechan/issues/new
Please remember that not all requests are doable and currently Blazechan has a backlog of feature requests already.
Update 2018-06-11: I currently only have time for very minor fixes and as such cannot do feature requests. Additionally, a major backend refactor is planned, therefore no feature requests will be done until that (expected August in the latest).

When a user clicks a post number to reply to that post, a green arrow always appears below the post# in the textbox.

Cloud this auto green arrow be done away with? Most replies don't need it and since you can't edit posts, it can cause the post to look funny for those who frequently overlook it.

Blazechan's database schema changed so much that I can't do a migration until 0.13.0 is ready, but it's fixed here.

What makes NeXTChan any differnt from all the other wannabe futuba?

>>564
It could be the next endchan... IDK. In truth there really isn't much going for it but the software is interesting and has potential. As for the site it doesn't have too much going for it. I'm trying to reset a /bunker/ here that will be simi active anyway at least, but it isn't a first destination of OC without a community of some type.

>>577
this
there's not much of a community here, just me deleting spam and waiting for m712 to intermittently return and disappear again
this site isn't really made to be posted on, but rather to show what blazechan can do
don't quote me on that though, i never asked m712 about this stuff

I emailed m712 on the admin nextchan adress over the /pone/ board. I was planing to reclaim the board do to concerns over the state of endchan again and the fact that I think it's just good to have a bunker. But do to /endpone/ having ongoing projects, particularly one regarding the archival of the fandom, and the activity that could bring from hosting secondary parallel threads I'm not sure would be welcome here from a technical standpoint and I suppose is something only m712 could answer. not whining about a lack of response as I know it's his tendency to disappear. Though I would mind reclaiming the board now if is possible/convenient for you. But it's not like it's an urgency, I can wait.

>>579
i dont think i can give you the rights to the board from my level, so it seems you can either just wait for him to respond, or make a new board and i'll archive the old one

>>580
Will bring it up with /endpone/, though right now I lean towards waiting for a bit. I mean it's not like we're in a big hurry and my postings would be limited anyway since I wouldn't do anything too big without a green light from m712. If something happens at endchan however I will be doing option 2. Thanks for the help!

When are you going to institute better anti-spam protocols?

The captcha should be entered only once. Are you entering it multiple times for multiple posts?
The 'you cannot post too often' is probably because you entered the captcha wrong and Blazechan didn't delete the cache entry wrt to you posting. I'll fix that up in a minute.

>Allow users to refresh the captcha

I might do it, but that might prove troublesome because it can be used to abuse the captcha. I might add a burst limit to it, though.

>>167

Is the captcha hard to understand, or is it slow? What's wrong with it? I'll be glad to help you on your issues.

>>168

while we wait for a captcha implementation, can you install a sort of "you can't post too often" delay like 4chan? that could help with spam

>>127
i'll be using this thread to contain the spam

>>322
my idea didn't seem to work, i'll look for another way to mitigate spam

<m712> Accept header's specification states that the server SHOULD (specific RFC defined SHOULD) return a 406 if the Accept header cannot be satisfied

<StephenLynx> you give me a PRACTICAL reason. a use case, a real world example.

<m712> so there's a specification defined guarantee that you either get the data type or you get a 406

<StephenLynx> but it COULD be satisfied.

<StephenLynx> I could send a html.

<StephenLynx> again

<m712> then your server is retarded

creating new threads seem to cause an error, but it actually turns out fine
just refresh the page after the error to see your thread pop up in the catalog
deleting duplicate threads you made will delete all of your past threads that are the same, so be careful about that

This has been fixed.

When can we use this site?

>>464
you can use it now, but it's still in heavy development
we also need to find a way to deal with spam
